The TIMETHIS Ref. 2502SS1-J “Sichuan Panda” Automatic Chronograph Natural Jadeite Bezel Special Edition is centered around the auspicious meaning of “Jie Jie Gao” — literally “each segment rising higher”, and meaning “rising step by step” or “continuous advancement” — a well-known cultural expression across the Chinese-speaking world.

“Jie Jie Gao” originates from the way bamboo grows: each segment rises higher than the last. In Chinese culture, it symbolizes steady progress, continuous advancement, prosperity in one’s career, and a smooth, upward path in life. It is not merely a common blessing, but also a cultural symbol deeply rooted in Chinese life, etiquette, and aesthetic tradition, often appearing in expressions of goodwill and traditional art.

This timepiece features a carefully selected natural jadeite bezel. Jadeite has long been cherished by people in the East. In Eastern aesthetics, it represents warmth, rarity, auspiciousness, and the refined virtue of a gentleman. Its subtle and restrained green glow naturally connects with the bamboo forest imagery of the Sichuan panda’s habitat, creating an Eastern visual scene of “a panda embraced by bamboo shadows.”

The bezel adopts a T-setting structure, allowing the natural jadeite to encircle the case like bamboo segments. It not only echoes the natural imagery of Sichuan, the hometown of the panda, but also carries the blessings of peace, growth, and continued success expressed through the phrase “bamboo brings peace, and each segment rises higher.”

This work is not simply a gem-set decorative watch. It integrates natural jadeite beloved in Eastern culture, the regional symbolism of the Sichuan panda, and the important auspicious meaning of “Jie Jie Gao” within the Chinese-speaking cultural sphere into the structure and visual language of a mechanical chronograph.Through contemporary watchmaking language, it expresses the spirit of Chinese culture: growth, blessing, upward movement, and a hopeful future.
